Well, hey there sunshine!
Welcome to Creatively Southern! Wondering who we are and what we do? It’s quite simple really, my friend!
We create custom stuff just for you and we do it with good ol’ Southern hospitality!
“You do whuuut??”
In a nutshell, we create and hand-letter invitations, wooden signs, inspirational quotes for print, apparel, home decor, and so much more.
If it’s custom work you need, connect with us and we will do our best to bring your vision to life for you. If it’s hand-lettering you need for a wedding, a party, or even your business, we’ve got you covered!
And then there’s more…
Besides the fact that we love to create things for you, we also like to share tutorials and resources that we find help to make life a little more simple. Maybe it’s things for the home, your money, or just your general well-being. If it helps us, we want to share it with you, our friends!
We still believe in good ol’ southern traditions.
While the days of white gloves might be gone, good manners and solid traditions never go out of style. And neither does Sweet tea! Even though we love our technology and can be a bit “nerd”, we still believe in handwritten thank you notes, RSVPs, please and thank you, and cursive writing!
Family is the most important thing to us and summers are just made for chasing lightening bugs and ice cream on the porch barefoot. We bring all those traditions to the work we do too.
We love what we do and want to share our creativity to make things better for others.
We’re here to share our creativity and our journey with you. And if even just one person finds inspiration from all of this, then we have already accomplished more than we ever thought possible!
Welcome to Creatively Southern, where we blend our creativity with some good ol’ southern traditions to bring joy to every day!
I started Creatively Southern in 2012 after my daughter’s first birthday. In the beginning, it was a place for me to share my adventures of life as a mother and all of my DIY projects. Over the next few years life got more than busy and priorities changed. The long and short of it… I took a blogging break.
Over the next few years, I struggled with how to jump back in. While my little corner of real estate on the internet still had traffic, there was more pressure than ever in the blogging world. I went through several online courses of trying to decide what I should be, how I should write, and how I could make it a business. I learned a lot, and I failed a lot.
Then finally I decided to stop letting life control me, and be true to who I am. It was time to simplify. I decided to write what I feel, what I think, what we experience so to help others that may be going through the same things. I want to share what we learn and help others believe that there is a simpler way to live.
Then I found what I love to do… “write pretty!” as my daughter would say.
We love to create and I have always loved to write cursive. From bubble and block letters to learning to write cursive at five years old, it’s always been what helps slow me down. With a family and two dogs, we are always on the go. Sometimes we just need to get back to our roots and take things at a slower pace. My lettering does that for me. It’s cheaper than therapy!

More about who we are:
I am Ellora, the founder and author of Creatively Southern in Knoxville, Tennessee. I started Creatively Southern in 2012 as a place to keep up with my projects and to write about life’s adventures with my little girl. Along the way, I decided I not only wanted to share our stories, but also wanted to share my creativity and use it to create beautiful things that would bring joy to others.
I am a mother to a little girl with big dreams. I have a full-time day job in the financial industry that I love. I share a home and life with my creative little girl, the man of my dreams, his beautiful daughter, and our two tad-bit hyperactive cattle dogs. If you have ever met a blue or red-heeler, then you know what I mean. 🙂
I am a calligrapher, a dreamer, and a doer. I believe in constant learning and personal growth. I love to plan a good party just to see others enjoying life and the company of others.
Britt is my creative assistant, builder, #1 encourager, supporter, and my rock. We work as a team to bring you inspiration to transform your home and life through creativity and life experiences. We are always up for a good DIY project that allows us to create. We share a love for life and a few good ol’ Southern traditions.
We are so glad you are here! Please make yourself at home and thank you for visiting us! We can’t wait to hear from you!
