Happy Fall! For over a year now, there’s always been a mirror above the mantel in the small, but quaint living room of our house. I always thought it helped to make the room look bigger. But over time I got tired of only being able to see the ceiling fan in the mirror. And it wasn’t too picture friendly either.
No matter what angle I tried to shoot from, it was there. I can hide cords, toys, dog bowls, and piles of mail, but I can never get rid of that ceiling fan.
So I had three options. Live with it, get rid of the ceiling fan, or get rid of the mirror. Well, obviously relocating the mirror was the easiest and most logical. 🙂
Then I had to decide what to fill the large wall above the mantel with. I’m planning a living room makeover for next year (imagine that!) but for now I built a wooden panel to fill the space where the mirror used to be. [Please click to continue reading…]
