Hi there! I have been so excited with all the questions and emails I’ve gotten over the Minnie Mouse themed birthday party I did for little Bree’s 2nd birthday! So today, I want to share all the details with you and maybe give you some inspiration for your next little girl birthday party! I’ll tell you how I made it all, but if you have more questions or would be interested in having some of the items custom made for your girl’s party, just let me know! 🙂
If you remember, I made her invitations a few weeks ago and that set the theme for the big day!
I found some awesome free Minnie Mouse printables from CatchMyParty.com. I used the water bottle labels and the birthday banners for the party.
I made drink tags for the table using some wooden labels from Michael’s craft store and my letter stamps. Just stamp the tags and tie them on with twine.
Can’t forget the sweet kisses from Bree!
Despite the rainy weather all morning, it managed to clear off just in time for the party. I set up a small food table outside on the patio. Here is one of the banners I got from the free printables. And despite all my efforts to hang it, that little Minnie Mouse Wreath on the table was made by yours truly. I didn’t get very good pictures of it at the party, but look for some instructions soon with close-ups on the blog. 🙂
I made rice krispie treats and cut them out with the Disney’s “Mickey/Minnie Mouse” Sandwich Metal Cutter I found on Amazon.com
. I dipped the ears in melted semi-sweet chocolate chips.
I also whipped up a batch of ‘pigs in a blanket’ … everyone’s favorite snack!
All of the food tags were made using my printer with some Disney fonts I downloaded for free. I cut out the cards and attached the ribbon and Minnie Mouse Die Cuts that I ordered here with my favorite little glue dots.
I used my sandwich cutter again, made homemade chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches … “Mickey’s Clubhouse Sandwiches” that is. 😉
We had Daisy’s Garden Veggies and ranch dip of course.
Inside, were all the cupcakes and little Bree’s personal cake. I made both vanilla and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese buttercream icing.
You can find out more about the DIY Cake Stands I made here. To decorate the cupcakes, I used pink pearl nonpareils and mini-oreos for the ears.
I made the Minnie Mouse ears on the shelf from a styrofoam ball that I cut in half and spray painted black. I used my large circle punch and black paper to punch out the ears and attached them to the styrofoam. Once I added the pink bow, my little girl instantly squeeled, “It’s MINNIE Momma!” 🙂 I’m pretty sure I did another happy dance around the room.
I made another one of these frames like I did for her first birthday party. It’s a great way to keep up with all her favorite things from year to year! If you want to get some of these fonts that I used in her party, check out the links here.
The top half of the gift table, sporting the paper mache “two” that I made here.
And here are just a few more pics from her big day!
Her first car!
Life is good when there’s cake involved! 🙂
Hope you enjoyed the pictures from Bree’s 2nd Birthday! It was so much fun putting it all together and even better watching her enjoy it all!

Hi
I’m doing my daughter’s birthday party Minnie themed but using red n black I found the printable that you used in the red but I can only find the “Celebrate” banner where did you find the “Happy Birthday” banner?
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Hi Loriaane, I actually got both banners from catch party.com… Although mine are pink. I’m not sure if she has it there in red. If not, you might could try making one with the free photo editing site like pic monkey.com. There’s also a new site that I’ve been wanting to check out called Canva.com. I’d be glad to help you make you if you like and can’t find one online. Good luck with your party!! So much fun!!! 🙂
Daria
Hi,
I love your frame with things Bree likes! What fonts did you use?
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Thanks Daria! I used Waltograph, Minnie, and Mickey Mouse Ears, along with a few of my other faves! You actually inspired me to post about this with links to download the fonts! 🙂 You can see the list here if you like! https://www.creativelysouthern.com/?p=2075
Thanks so much for asking!!
Daria
Ellora, I just can’t thank you enough! My daughter’s 2nd birthday is coming up and I just can’t wait to start this project! This will look so good as a centerpiece 🙂 and such a great thing to put in her keepsake box afterwards 🙂 thank you again
Kari
I stumbled upon the white dress your daughter wore! I am planning a Minnie themed party for our daughter for next month. What did you think of the dress in person? Do you feel it fit true to size?
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Hi Kari, the dress is super cute and I feel like it ran a little larger, although my daughter is a bit petite for her age. We were able to make it work perfectly though with a little safety pin in the back. The problem I had was with the straps falling off her shoulders. Probably an easy fix, but I didn’t try it on her before the day of the party! ack! I don’t believe this dress is still available at the Disney Store. If you are looking for it and cannot find it, let me know. My daughter wore the dress only once, and I’m planning on selling it in an upcoming consignment sale. So if you’re interested, just let me know! 🙂
Kari
I found it on ebay for $14 (coming from China), so that’s why I wanted to ask you about it! Haha! Do you have a 2T then? My daughter is big for her age- she’ll be turning 2 in a month and she’s close to 36″ and about 30 lbs. right now.
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Hi Kari!! It is a 2T but I would want to double check that this evening when I get home from work. I believe it would fit your daughter well. My daughter was not quite 30 lbs. at her birthday. Did the $14 include shipping? I’d have to see how much shipping would be but I can’t imagine it would be much. What city, state are you? I can check on this and let you know. 🙂
Sammi
I love everything you made, great ideas! I am planning my daughters 2nd birthday party and the theme is minnie mouse too 🙂
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Thanks Sammi! Glad you liked it. Hope your daughters birthday is extra special!!
Lora Rambow
How did you get the banners to print so large. Mine are all on one sheet of regular paper
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Hey Lora! When you go to the link at Catch My Party, there should be three downloadable files. You want the Celebrate (large) and the Happy Birthday (large). Did this work for you??
Michelle (Printabelle.com)
Super excited to see how you used my printables!! I love all the details of your party, it looks soo fun! Cute Minnie car!
Rachael
I love all the items for this party. Can you let me know where or how you made the invitations? Rachael

Love the party theme! If you’re looking for Minnie or Mickey ears for the birthday girl or boy check out this link https://www.etsy.com/listing/152096807/minnie-mouse-ears-headband-craft-kit-do?ref=shop_home_active
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Thank you Rachel! I made the invitations on my computer at home. I bought two different types of cardstock at the craft store and the minnie mouse ribbon. The Minnie Mouse die cuts came from etsy. (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Steph1999?ref=seller_info) I believe she may be on vacation right now, but there is a link to contact her. Hope this helps!!!

Oh my gosh – everything is simply to-die-for cute! You need to be a party planner!!
Ellora @ Creatively Southern
Kris, you are so kind and that would be my dream job, as long as they let me do DIY! 😉
