It’s almost here… Little Bree’s second birthday. How in the world did it get here so fast??? The party is coming up soon and this Momma has some work to do!
We’ve decided on a Minnie Mouse Birthday this year. In case you missed my inspiration board, you can check it out here and all my favorite pins here! When I say “we decided” I totally mean me and Bree, because everyone knows how opinionated a 2 year old can be, right? Yeah, thought so. 🙂
I got busy this week crafting together the invitations. Here’s how they turned out! (For privacy purposes, I blocked out the address and phone number, but don’t take it personal, umkay? There’s some all kinds of people out there you know).
What do you think? These invitations will set the theme for her party and it’s going to be so much fun!
I already started on a few decorations, and today I’ll share the minnie mouse paper mache number I made – inspired by something I found on Etsy!
I’m thinking this will go on top of a cupcake stand or something along those lines. I could have clicked “Add to Cart” and had this cute little thing delivered right to my front door for about $12, but what’s the fun in that? So I ventured out to Hobby Lobby with a coupon in hand on my phone and snatched up a paper mache number, some ribbon and some scrapbook paper… all for about $7.
I traced the number onto the scrapbook paper and cut out my shapes. I took a black sharpie marker and colored the ends of the number. You could use black craft paint, but hey, the marker was quick, easy, and less clean up! 😉
I mod podged the scrapbook paper onto the number. If you’re not familiar with mod podge, you can check out some of my other hodge podge projects here, here, and here. 🙂
I grabbed my Fiskars 3″ circle punch and black scrapbook paper to make the ears.
And by the way, let me just say that Glue Dots are my new BFF. Less mess, less time = happy crafter. You can’t go wrong! I attached the ears to the back of the paper mache number and added a fun Minnie Mouse bow to dress it up.
When little Bree saw the finished product, there was no doubt about it… Minnie Mouse Birthday was on it’s way!
I guess ya’ll know what I’ll be working on for the next couple of weeks. 🙂 Can’t wait but seriously, where does the time go? Hope you have a great weekend! I’ll be back next week with more blogging tips, party planning, and diy!

I ordered the die cut minnie’s from Etsy… you can try this link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Steph1999?ref=seller_info. I believe she is on vacation but there is a link there to contact her. You may find some more on Etsy very similiar. Hope this helps! Thanks for visiting and commenting!

Where did you get all the equipment? … my daughter is turning two soon and I’m super excited to make something like this and make it stand at the end of the table!

Hi Valeria! I got the paper mache number at Hobby Lobby, along with the mod podge and scrapbook paper. The paper punch is by Fiskars and you can find them at just about any craft store. The minnie mouse ribbon came from the craft store too! Let me know if I can help you out with the party in anyway! We had so much fun this year. Thanks for stopping in!
