With the weather really cooling off this weekend, I decided it was time to break out the hot cocoa and marshmallows! That’s when the idea finally came to me for a hot beverage bar! Back at the beginning of the year when I made all those home goals, one of them was to create a more functional space in the dining room. Seeing as how we rarely use the dining room for it’s intended purpose, the buffet hardly ever sees a morsel of food. So what better function than to turn it into a hub for hot cocoa, coffee, and tea!
I gathered a list of everything I wanted to use in the hot beverage bar. Most everything I already had on hand, but wanted a few special things to really dress it up and make it like a mini-cafe. I picked up the stacking mugs from World Market and some wooden spoons from Hobby Lobby. I wrapped the spoons with washi tape and added some small silver spoons for stirring. Those may or may not be shot glasses I’m using to hold the spoons. 😉
I picked up the sealed glass containers at Walmart and added some labels with my mini-alphabet stamps and some twine. The blank wooden labels came from Joann’s.
I pulled out my cappuccino maker and brought the coffee maker in from the kitchen. Add in some shakers of nutmeg and cinnamon, a few paper straws from Hobby Lobby, and some fun polka-dot napkins.
Now that we have everything all together in one central location, it’s freed up a little space in the kitchen, which all of us could use! Hello counter space!
Here’s a list of everything you might want to include in your own hot beverage bar:
- coffee maker
- coffee
- cappuccino maker
- cocoa
- marshmallows
- chocolate chips (white & dark chocolate)
- chocolate sprinkles
- spoons for stirring and scooping
- cinnamon and nutmeg shakers
- straws
- napkins
- coffee mugs
- tea
- honey
- cream and sugar
We still have to get our hot water from the kitchen, but maybe Santa will bring me a Keurig for Christmas and then hot water will be on demand! Then I can expand the hot beverage bar even more! 🙂 Ever since setting up the hot beverage bar, my little girl has asked for warm cocoa every night! Who can resist when happiness like this comes in a cup covered with chocolate sprinkles? 🙂
Yep, life is better is chocolate sprinkles! Happy Fall Ya’ll!!

super pretty and i love the burlap runner. Just made one this past weekend and while easy…not so easy getting it perfectly straight! lol/

Thanks Jocie! Yes, I confess that I have to straighten the burlap runner almost every day. 🙂

Alita, I so want a french press. I just think they are so cool for one, but I’d love to try a good cup of coffee made with one! And great idea about the electric kettle!! Thanks so much!

Yum! It makes me want to swing by your house! 🙂 I love the idea of having everything out and accessible.. vs putting it in a cupboard where it actually never gets put back!

C’mon by Kim! 🙂 We’ll mix us up a cozy cup of cocoa or coffee! Thank you so much for your kind words. I love having some more counter and cabinet space in the kitchen. Thanks for stopping by!

This is LOVELY. The idea, the decor, everything. I can’t wait until I’m living in a space where I can have one of these! *pinning*
