Hey there! Hope your week is off to a good start! It was a busy weekend with Bree’s 2nd birthday party and Mother’s Day all rolled into one! I have lots of fun pics to show from her birthday party (bet you can’t guess the theme!) but first I’m going to show you how to make your own cake stands for cheap cheap cheap!
I made two cupcake stands and a cake stand for the big birthday party all for less than $12! Here’s how I made the cupcake stands.
I picked up a couple of round wooden plaques at Michael’s Craft Store and two glass candle holders from the Dollar Store. Using my favorite spray paint, I painted three light coats of paint on all of pieces (light coats to keep the paint runs away) and glued them together with my handy dandy Gorilla glue.
Instant cupcake stands!
To make the cake stand for Bree’s “smash” cake, I used two more wooden plaques from Michael’s and a wooden chair/table leg that I pickedup at the Home Depot.
I painted all the pieces white, and again used Gorilla Glue to adhere all three pieces together.
Okay, yes this is upside down… but once the glue dries, we add a little ribbon and decorate the cake and here we go…
…my DIY cake stand!! And you get a sneak peek at the birthday party I’ll be posting here soon! 😉 Have you tried making your own cake stand? Now, if I could only make the cake as easy as these cake stands!!
