Hey there! I’m back! Okay, so maybe you noticed… or maybe you didn’t, but I took a week off from the blog posts. Let’s just call it my Spring Break, umkay? I took some time to do some things I really wanted to do and to get started on some projects around the house. You’ll soon be seeing them unfold right here, not to worry. 🙂
So, let’s just kick this thing back off with a blog tip post for my fellow bloggers out there. 🙂 Part 5: How to Add a Blog Signature – Blogging Tips for Beginners.
Okay, I know you’ve seen the signature there at the bottom of the post on all your favorite blogs. (um, did I mention that includes Creatively Southern??) 🙂 But seriously, it’s great to be able to personalize your blog posts with your own signature.
There’s several ways you can do this. You can create a .png image of the signature you want to use in photoshop or whatever photo editing software you prefer. Then upload it to an image hosting site like photobucket, and copy the code for the image at the bottom of every post. (more on how to do this below.)
Now, if you aren’t into creating the whole signature image from scratch, then let me show you how I did mine. 🙂
Go to My Live Signature. I used the free signature creation wizard. Next, enter the name you want to use.
Step 1. Enter the name
Enter a name, initials or a nickname for creating the signature.
Choose the size of your signature, and the color of the font and the background.
Here’s another tip for you. Here’s a html color code tool to help you find the right colors and codes for your blog.
Next, you can choose to put a slant on your signature if you want. Then, tada! You have just created your very own blog signature image. 🙂
Now, just right click on the finished image in My Live Signature and save it. You can then upload it to photobucket or any image hosting site you prefer. Copy the html code given for your image and insert it into your blog.
Okay, how do we do that??
If you’re using blogger, there is a great tutorial that walks you step by step over at The Cutest Blog On The Block. Definitely the clearest and easiest way I’ve seen it explained.
If you’re a WordPress user, then there’s a plug-in for that. 😉 Install the plug-in Add Signature and activate it. Once activated, look under settings in your dashboard for MVP Add Signature. You can put up to 7 fancy little signatures into your blog with this plug-in!! Wowsa!!
Copy the html code for your signature from the image hosting site and paste it into the first box for the primary signature. At the bottom, select where and how you want it displayed. For me, I chose to display on posts only. Then click update and you should have just added your very own personalized signature to your blog!
If you have questions or trouble, please feel free to post it in your comments here! And if you found this post helpful, take a second or two and share it with others who might can use it! 🙂 Do you use a signature on your blog?
