Hi friends! Recently, I attended one of the cutest baby showers ever. Not to mention, it was for a great mommy-to-be who I love dearly, and she had a book themed baby shower! What better way to prepare for the upcoming arrival of new baby than a baby shower for children’s books??
Now, don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of bibs, blankets, bottles, along with a slew of other cutsie things for the new baby boy. But now they also have an entire collection of classic children’s books for his library. Everyone that attended brought their favorite children’s book and a small gift from their baby registry. Most awesome idea – ever.
The food was delish and went right along with the theme. Check out these “Cow Jumped Over the Moon” sandwiches made with a round cookie cutter.
Here’s a few more of the book themed baby shower:
There’s “Hot Cross Buns” in the back there, but I forgot to snap a picture before we started digging in!
The Little Golden Books were displayed everywhere and the Mommy-to-Be got to take them all home for the baby’s library. What a great collection to start with!
The cupcakes were the cutest! Check out the combination of fondant and piped icing that was used to top these themed cupcakes!
Even the punch was perfect for the book theme!
And lastly, the hosts made this fantastic gift for the baby’s room using small canvas boards, fabric, and wooden letters. Just glue your fabric to the canvas. Stain the wooden letters and finish with a coat of polyurethane. Then attach them to the canvas with glue. Easy and super cute wall decor for the baby’s room!
What a great idea for a baby shower theme! I can’t wait to meet little Mikey and I know his mommy and daddy are going to be some awesome parents. So what book did I bring for the baby?
Where the Wild Things Are. Love that book and so does our daughter! We have so many favorites, it’s hard to choose just one.
So, what’s your favorite children’s book?
