Today, I’m talking decorating trends, specifically nailheads. I keep seeing nailhead trim pop up in some amazing places, and it’s definitely sure to be a hot trend for 2013. Nailhead trim is such an easy way to add personality and style to your decor, but it might not be for everyone. What are your thoughts? Let’s take a look at some outside the box uses for nailheads and see what inspires you!
One of the popular uses for nailhead trim is on an upholstered headboard, but have you seen some of the furniture trends using nailhead designs?
How easy would it be to makeover a piece by just adding a few details? I love this simple side table all dressed up.
And the simple design in this chest:
And if you really want to add some nailhead trim but on a smaller budget, check out this designer-inspired nailhead table from Jessica at Mad In Crafts! Seriously loving this and she did it for $6!
If you’re not quite ready to hammer thousands of little holes into your prized pieces of furniture, I get that. How about something little scaled back? I love these trays from One King’s Lane. What a great DIY project that would make!
And I am swooning over this chair from House of Turquoise. I could totally see myself blogging from this chair in my new office!
I love how the nailhead on these curtains is so unexpected! I believe these were at West Elm at one time, but I couldn’t find them there now. Again, some fabric, glue, and nailheads – could make these easily!
And last, but not least, how far do you think you could take the nailhead decorating trend? Check out the trim in this space? I’m pretty sure that my OCD and perfectionist tendencies would have me in knots trying to get all those nails straight!
What are your thoughts on using nailhead trim in decorating your own space? I really want to try this out on a chair, maybe a desk or endtable. I don’t think I’ll be lining the doors and entryways just yet. So love it or leave it? Have you already used nailheads in a project of your own? Link it up in the comments. I’d love to see how you’re incorporating this trend in your decor!
