At last, it is finally the weekend! I don’t usually post much on the weekend, but I needed to take a little “me time” the past couple of days to clear my head and get some things done. Oddly enough, finishing a project or working in the yard is the best therapy for me. ;)So today I finished up the dining room table!
As much as I would love a new dining set, I am so happy with how this turned out. Although now we want new floors, but all will come in time. Isn’t it great how one project always begets another? 🙂
I’ve been working on this makeover for a few weeks in between work, diapers, and life in the fast lane. I painted the chairs first and you can see more on how I did this makeover here and here.
I used Minwax Polyshades stain in Bombay Mahogany. Polyshades already contains the polyurethane so there is no need for a top coat which makes it easier when you are short on time! Just be sure to use a high quality brush to get that smooth even finish.
Let’s take a quick look at a couple of before pics.
Aaaannnnd now a little progress…
This dining room update is coming right along, and I still have more plans for this space. Little by little it’s starting to transform! Hope you have a great weekend and do something fun!! For now, I’ve had my therapy this weekend so now off to spend some real fun time with the family!
