You’ve spent hours on Pinterest searching for inspiration only to end up with more lost time and hundreds of pins. You're feeling overwhelmed and not sure you have the right skills or tools. Where do you even start?
Maybe you've tried a few projects and they didn't work out or they ended up as "Pinterest Fails." You say to yourself, "I'm not that creative." They make it look so easy!
This doesn't mean you're not creative nor does it mean that you’re not capable of creating meaningful beauty.
Welcome to Creatively Southern, your destination for inspiration and how-tos that will spark your creativity and help break the barrier that's holding you back from your potential.
I believe everyone is creative. With a little confidence, the right tools and a better tutorial, you can discover your creativity and use it to change your life and your home for the better.
Imagine being able to create simple projects and solutions for your life and home without spending a fortune.
Imagine finding an amazing solution or idea that you can do yourself and even add your own twist to it to make it work better for you and your family.
Stop saving all those pins of amazing projects and beautiful spaces, and start making those incredible things yourself - equipped with a complete list of tools, where to find them, and detailed instructions - no expert skills required.
Creativity is NOT always easy, even though some people make it seem that way. Creativity is about knowing your tools and the “rules” in the area you wish to create something. One of my favorite quotes: “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.” - Pablo Picasso
You only need a little guidance and encouragement, then the guesswork and doubt are eliminated and you can begin to imagine things differently. THAT is creativity at work.
When you join the Creatively Southern, you get detailed guidance and encouragement to discover your skills and create spaces and solutions that change your life and home for the better.

I’ve never considered myself a "creative person." As I child, I had a vivid imagination of dressing-up, coloring, pretending, and building whatever I could dream up. Then adulthood happened. All that imagination went into finding creative ways to pay the bills, decorate a home with no idea of what I was doing, and five different ways to make hamburger helper.
I'm not sure at what point I decided I wasn't creative anymore, but I did. I couldn't sew, I couldn't draw, and I definitely couldn't get the bookshelves in my house to look good to save my life! It wasn't until I owned my first home that I started creating and making things again. Even then, I didn't see myself as a "creative person". I was just trying to make a home and do it on a budget!
Fast forward several years, and I’m now the mom of a daughter with the same vivid imagination I remember as a child. Life is one big adventure again. Inspired by her imagination and love of life, creativity has become my drive and my passion.
And yet I hear others saying, “Oh I wish I was that creative!” The thing is, you ARE creative, my friend! You always have been, you just need a little practice.
You see, I don’t believe creativity is some mystical skill that only some people have. We are all born creative, but somewhere along the way, we stopped believing in ourselves and we lost the window to our childhood imagination… to our curiosity of the possibilities. That’s why Creatively Southern exists… to change the thought that you have to be creative to make something beautiful. With a little confidence, the right tools, and a better tutorial, YOU can discover your creative side and use it change your life and your home for the better.
