Fall Harvest Mantel Decorating

Happy Fall! For over a year now, there’s always been a mirror above the mantel in the small, but quaint living room of our house. I always thought it helped to make the room look bigger. But over time I got tired of only being able to see the ceiling fan in the mirror. And it wasn’t too picture friendly either.fall-mantel-decor(1)

 

No matter what angle I tried to shoot from, it was there. I can hide cords, toys, dog bowls, and piles of mail, but I can never get rid of that ceiling fan.

So I had three options. Live with it, get rid of the ceiling fan, or get rid of the mirror. Well, obviously relocating the mirror was the easiest and most logical. :)

Then I had to decide what to fill the large wall above the mantel with. I’m planning a living room makeover for next year (imagine that!) but for now I built a wooden panel to fill the space where the mirror used to be. [Please click to continue reading…]

Grandinroad Inspired Halloween Wreath

I can’t believe it’s already October!! I spent part of the weekend trying to get some Halloween decorating done, starting with this Grandinroad Inspired Halloween Wreath which is donning the wicked mantel this year. This wreath caught my eye because of all the different patterns and I loved the broom and witch hat accessories.
