With the new year and new goals, comes a new budget plan! I know a lot of us are making our lists of all the goals we want to accomplish this year. And if you’re like me (I feel for ya!) 😉 I’m ready to get the ball rolling on some new projects and knock a few things off the long list of to-dos. Some of your goals may involve beautifying your home (so that we can all be on the cover of Southern Living, right? it could happen.), living a healthier lifestyle, paying off some debt, or spending more time with our families – crazy as that may be! 🙂
Have you really lost your creativity? Think back to your childhood for just a moment- can you remember a time when…
Hey friends! I’m back in the ring again. Yes, I took a couple of weeks off for some much needed time to myself. The first of the year is always a busy time of regrouping, planning, goal setting, and even budgeting. But I’m happy to say that after the last two weeks, I’m back in the swing of things again and ready to get to work on my goals for 2014!! So let’s kick it off with a fun craft project shall we?
One of my newest and most favorite toys is my Silhouette Portrait machine. While I’m still learning all the amazing projects that you can create with the Silhouette machine, I did use the Portrait machine and some vinyl to create a gift for a very special Nana! You can use this idea for anyone that might enjoy a little “brag” board. I think it would make a fun magnetic board for even a teenage girl’s room! I’ll show you how I made it and even share a free cut file for you to make your own!
One of my biggest problems with winter weather is that it wreaks havoc on my skin. I end up keeping a small bottle of lotion on me at all times and no matter how much I use I inevitably still end up with dry, itchy skin. Have your hands ever been so dry that they hurt? Maybe even crack and peel? I’ve finally found a cure for even severely dry skin that I can’t get enough of. Even those with cracked dry skin will see a huge difference with just a few applications of this homemade lotion recipe. And what’s even better? It’s easy to make, only takes a few minutes to whip up, and perfect for even sensitive skin types.
So, who is done with all their Christmas shopping? Yeah, not this girl! I’ve got just a few more things to get and then it’s time for some homemade gift giving.
Usually I’m spending these days baking up chocolatey goodness in the kitchen, but this year I’m trying something different. I found a great little recipe for some homemade soaps and decided to try my hand at it.
Do you ever have a “oops” project that just “accidentally” turns out to be fabulous? Well, okay maybe not fabulous, but this was sort of an experiment that turned out way better than I expected! I took a plain old fabric storage basket and turned it into a DIY vintage metal storage bin!
Wanna know how to make this yourself? I tell ya, this one take some careful techniques and a very special product to get this look… Pffft!!!
Nah… all you need is a little spray paint and about 5 minutes! My kinda DIY!!
Here’s how it all started out. After I got my bookcases in the home office, I realized I needed to some space for Ms. Bree’s toys. Lots of toys. Lots. Everywhere.
I already had these fabric storage baskets, but they didn’t blend with the new decor in the office so I set out on an experiment to pretty them up. [Please click to continue reading…]
