Can you believe it’s already June? There’s no better way to enjoy the summer than with some fun outdoor entertainment. Whether you are planning a get together with friends, want to create a great place for family fun and games, or just extend your living area to the backyard, I’ve found some great inspiration for outdoor entertaining to help you get started on your summertime activities.
I was searching around on Hometalk this weekend and found some amazing projects and ideas to make the perfect backyard getaway. By the way, if you haven’t checked out Hometalk, you’ve got to hop over and see what you’re missing, especially if you are a DIY person like myself! 😉
Remember last year, the new patio was installed? I love the patio, but the backyard is still lacking some shade on a hot summer afternoon. One of these days, I would love to have a shady spot like this pergola to create an outdoor retreat.
Last week I showed you how easily you can build your own horseshoe pits. Maybe you need something a little more portable due to limited space?? I found a helpful post on how to build a cornhole toss game!
And let’s not forget the kiddos… how fun would it be to have this wooden swing tucked away in the corner of the yard?
And no outdoor entertaining would be complete without some ambiance. I love these DIY outdoor lights Christina made! I’m definitely thinking of adding some of these with citronella candles to help keep the bugs at bay.
If you want to see even more inspiration for outdoor entertaining, visit my Summer Backyard Entertainment clipboard on Hometalk. Everything from movie night to outdoor water games… it’s all right there. And if you’re still not sure what Hometalk is about, then c’mon over and just take a look around.
Hometalk is the largest home and garden resource on the web. You can research projects, ask questions, search for inspiration, and even post your own DIY projects to share! And even better, you can create clipboards to save all your favorite projects to one place. What more could you want when you love DIY projects and organization??
What ideas or plans do you have for your outdoor entertaining this year? Anyone up for a game of backyard Twister?? Okay, maybe we’ll just stick to horseshoes. 😉
