When I started unpacking some of the halloween decorations, I realized that a few of them needed a little TLC – this wreath being one of them. I used a modified version of this wreath last year but it seems it had lost a few “parts”.
This wreath is so easy to make and I’m sure that you’ve seen a dozen like it on Pinterest already. I’m going to show you how I made mine.
I started with a foam wreath form and a black feather boa. Just wrap the boa around the wreath, but be prepared for this to shed feathers everywhere. I do mean, every.where.
Then using floral wire, I tied the Styrofoam balls onto the wreath. I used black craft foam and cut out circles for the eyes. My circles are no where close to being perfectly round, but I’m probably the only one that notices are cares. 🙂 I also tied made a bow with some Halloween ribbon and tied that onto the wreath as well.
Some of the eyes are wired on together like this:

and others were single wired and tied closely together. I used two sizes of Styrofoam balls: 1 1/2″ and 2″ , available at your local favorite craft store!
And in less than an hour, you have a fun and spooky Halloween wreath! And maybe a small pile of feathers to clean up too. Just in case you were thinking about it, I don’t recommend cutting the boa to trim it up. Trust me, it makes it shed more, I know. The good thing is once you wrap the boa around the wreath and get it decorated, the feathers stay put. 🙂
I’m already working on our Halloween mantel now. I’ll give you a sneak peek:
Did you get your Halloween decorations out this weekend? Have you already put them out? I’m planning to have the mantel complete this week so BEWARE!
Har Har! Sorry, just couldn’t resist!
